From the world of phenomena to the calendarization of existence - by Ajith Rohan J.T.F., Rome

From the world of phenomena to the calendarization of existence

The focal point

A calendar is not something simple or banal; it is a natural, indispensable method of human logical production used to move, change, transform, relate, communicate, and live a systematic life. Personally, I have considered current calendar systems to be somewhat forced and even ridiculous, because they have abused and mechanized human life and the man-made world (including nature and the cosmos – the order and unity of the universe).

On the other hand, even if one ignores the calendar and looks through historical events—such as the naming of days and months, the Julian reform, or the Gregorian update—every human still feels space-time effectively, both constitutively (physically and metabolically) and psychologically. Thus, no one can deny that a calculable, rhythmic mode of moving, communicating, and relating with oneself and with others is a congenital faculty or, rather, that the consciousness and perception of time—along with all other fundamental, natural, and logical (yet raw and unfiltered) functions—are present. We share these even with basic biological operating systems, the habits of animals, and the rhythm of nature. Just think about the rhythm of one’s heartbeat, the rhythm of breathing, and the general length of an inhale and an exhale (±3 seconds).

Human beings are able to experience universal “disorder,” “chaos,” or “non-logical movements, transformations, and mutations: flux.” But human beings tend to follow patterns or logical behaviour. So, the calendar is something they have invented, among other things, to survive logically. I define this as narrating life. It is not simple. But, in this reflection, I write something pragmatic without entering into further explanations.

But, beyond all this, isn't there something more to explore about our temporality?

But calendarization of socio-politic-economic-cultural-civil (SPEC) life is, in general, we can consider as the strategic tool of ‘political-administrative-financial’ control of relative human behaviour. Through this, one can understand how one becomes habitual and freely forced to follow the orders of sweet commanders” and to understand how habitual life and a freely forced ikikata (lifestyle) leads nowhere but back to frustration, anxiousness, sadness, and a chaotic life (struggle for survive).

Calendarization of life

Conventionally, I address today as the 3rd of January 2026. I performed relevant organized activities according to this relative periodization that we normally call the calendarization of the SPEC and “political-administrative-financial” year.

I may call it the “calendarization” of “habitual life itself” because, despite all the maniacal and scrupulous separation of simple tasks and everything related to them to accelerate, improve, and make more and more profit strategically—which will never get anywhere but only to continuous processing—calendarization helps people to establish habitual, healthy/unhealthy/capricious relations and communicate what they wish without disturbing their individual and collective rhythm of life. Is this life?

Time is repeated motions of nature

Time is just the measure of repeated motions of the world of phenomena. In the relation between the rotation and revolution of the Earth and the Sun, the tides of the sea, the seasons, and the behaviour of nature, nature offers (appears with) plenty of rhythms. So, man, observing the self and nature, invented different periodicities. Without this natural periodicity, we cannot measure time. We have no other means to do this. So, our knowledge of space-time is all about the world of phenomena or the natural world. No one can perceive, conceive, or apprehend culturally unquantified time. Thus, periodicity is the base of our knowledge (SPEC systemic) of everything concerning space-time.

Experience of pulsation

Every human being has experienced the pulsations of the heart. It denotes the life and activities of an individual. Therefore, all our activities are connected with the pulsations of the heart. From birth to growth, decay, and until death, each human has to wiggle according to his/her rhythmical throbbing. This is such an interesting and profound reality about our existence that any human being naturally can experience. As I said before, the general length of an inhale and an exhale—±3 seconds—can be applied to calculate different things, such as how old the Earth is. Beyond this type of curiosity, one can concentrate on these 3 seconds and experience new dimensions.

Seasons of the year

Beyond this rhythm of the heart, man also depends on the long-period pulsations of nature: the seasons – spring, summer, autumn, and winter. All changes of plant life directly but involuntarily affect our knowledge of time. This is, on the other hand, enriched by the life and behaviour of animals, birds, and all insects. Regarding so-called inanimate phenomena, I have my own direct experience to share here. I visited my hometown after 20 years and I found, first, that the landscape of the town had changed. The riverbank and the sea beach had changed unrecognizably. In brief, after 20 years, I found the geographical area had increased (due to the river and the Indian Ocean's activities) and nature was more vigorous than before. This means that change, decay, and transformation are always in action, even where human beings cannot notice it immediately.

Organized time studies

We have, then, rudimentary astrology, more scientifically founded astronomy, and the rigorous astrophysics of the 21st century to note the periodicity of the sky, its contents, their behaviour, and their connection with us. From these, we achieve very important and more effective knowledge of periodic motion that helps our man-made world processes. This knowledge is therefore very important because it directly affects everything, including human beings.

Rotation and revolution of the earth and the moon

Thus, the rotation and revolution of the Earth are the two most important periodic motions for human beings and the rest of existence on Earth. They can immediately observe and experience the relation with the life processes of individual and collective activities. What we habitually call “day and night” is the result of the rotation of the Earth. We know about the revolution of the Earth, but the effect of this annual revolution is more visible in the floral world.

Though the rotation and revolution—both movements of the Earth—are affecting relatively everything this planet contains, due to human constraints and limits in general and the delay in understanding the micro-processes (micro-level movement, change, decay, transformation), nobody is able to make exact conclusions and make patterns regarding micro-worlds.

conclusion

Well, our knowledge of space-time, therefore, depends on the periodicity of the world of phenomena, and the rotation and revolution of the Earth correspond to our illusory reality, which is identified by snapshotting continuously fleeting moments as something that exists.

But why have I repeated this: “But calendarization of socio-politic-economic-cultural-civil (SPEC) life is, in general, what we can consider as ‘political-administrative-financial’ control of relative human behaviour. In this way, one can understand how one becomes habitual and freely forced to follow the orders of sweet commanders” and to understand how habitual life and a freely forced ikikata (lifestyle) leads nowhere but back to frustration, anxiousness, sadness, and a chaotic life (struggle for survive).

So, one has to understand and experience the calendar within and of nature. There is no need to become rebellious or revolutionaries to follow one’s own existential clock and calendar, and to listen to and experience the calendars of nature.

On the other hand, we're barely a quarter of the way through the 21st century, and we have fairly effective tools to understand and verify certain things about the movements, changes, and transformations at the micro-level of nature and even our biology. Despite everything, the "political-cultural-administrative-financial" and SPEC calendar remains dominant, and human beings are always behaving habitually and are freely forced to live in certain ways like sheep for slaughter. Though the SPEC and "political-cultural-administrative-financial" calendar provide a kind of order to the ordinary man, it sells back to the ordinary man his/her own time with obligations and notifications.

The calendarized man is fixated and freely forced to be uncertain, dissatisfied, frustrated, depressed, anxious, and mainly dominated by different types of agglomerated fears. This type of man lives according to what the relative calendar indicates. The world must be a fixed place with certainty, security, justice, fairness, and beauty. This man is always chasing fleeting happiness. This type of man always sees others as perfect, while he feels like a failure, frustrated, and unhappy.
